For seven days, you are called to live the Gospel radically—just as the early Christians did—by immersing yourself in prayer, fasting, and contemplation. This is a unique occasion to renew your commitment to Christ and be refreshed by the 2,000-year-old tradition that has nourished the Church and Her faithful.

Retreat Mission

• Begins Sunday, May 31st, 5 PM with a communal meal and opening conference, and ends Sunday, June 7th, after Divine Liturgy, with a festive brunch and sharing of the graces received.

• Daily Worship: Divine Liturgy, monastic singing and worship, and a daily spiritual conference led by Fr. Agapetos, Priest and Monk of Holy Transfiguration Monastery.

• Silence & Solitude: Deep recollection and attentive listening to God.

• Sacred Fasting: Simple healthy vegetarian food.

• Silent Manual Labor: There will be opportunities to participate in food preparation, gardening, forest work, and more.

Who Should Attend

This retreat is open to all adults who desire to enter into deep silence and prayer. No WiFi, cell reception, or phone use. An emergency phone will be available for urgent matters. Families and friends attending together will also be asked to uphold this sacred silence for the benefit of all.

Participants should be prepared for a brief strenuous hike between retreat locations in rugged terrain.

Retreat Cost & Accommodations

$450 includes wholesome organic farm-grown meals, and camping facilities (tent space, composting toilets, and hot showers) at the site.

​We provide the tent space, but are not able to provide the tent.

Rustic, beautiful cabins are available at extra cost.

FOOD IS POTLUCK STYLE due to local regulations. Kindly bring something simple to share. Cooking and refrigeration facilities are available. We will provide generous offerings from our farm and forest.

We are about 45 minutes from the nearest groceries so PLEASE bring everything you will need for the duration of the retreat. The spring water here is great so bring your water bottle.

Bonus Activities

All workshop participants are warmly encouraged to take time to open themselves to the full magic of Golden Cup Wilderness including hiking, meditating, forest bathing and just hanging out.​
